Our Founder
Kat Drennan holds a MA and Graduate Certificate in Complex Trauma and is a trained trauma clinician and a certified life and wellness coach through the Canadian Coach Academy. She has over 25 years of experience working with clients from all walks of life, assisting clients in self discoveries and self reflection, supporting them on their healing and recovery journey all the while helping them create positive change and achieve their goals. Kat’s career has taken her to the beginning and end of ones journey. Kat’s experience working with clients in the mental health and addictions fields in combination with her time in the correctional and foster care systems brings the skills, insight and tools into her life coaching practice. Kat has developed a unique coaching style which combines her experience, education, and training with empathy, guidance, and practical tools to help clients overcome obstacles and make lasting changes in their lives. What do coaching services even look like?
A coaching partnership is an empowering relationship between the coach and the client, working together to find new possibilities. As a team, we will discover new goals, celebrate achievements, and encourage personal growth and transformation. The relationship between the coach and the client is founded upon a sense of safety, mutual trust and respect. The coach helps the client see the potential and abilities the coach sees within them. The central focus of the coaching relationship is to empower the client to enhance their overall well-being and happiness.
Fundamental to a successful coaching experience is learning. The coach provides the opportunity for the client to learn from experiences through thoughtful reflection. The coach supports the client in exploring new ways to view situations, individuals, and potential outcomes. In developing these new approaches, plans, strategies and actions the client learns new ways of managing the topics/concerns they presented in the coaching contract, as. This process can be challenging and uncomfortable for the client. They will learn more about themselves and the role they play in situations and outcomes, and they will discover how their own actions play a part in the situations they wish to change. This learning can assist the client to have a mindset reset and/or shift in their perspective.
